UNIgreen Green Campus Conference

Trees - Multifunctional Element of Ecosystems

Miyawaki Forest Workshop

We cordially invite you to take part in the exclusive Warsaw University of Life Sciences Green Campus event

which will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2024.

The occasion falls on the same day as the inauguration of the 2024–2025 academic year

which is scheduled for September 30 at 11:00 in the Crystal Hall

located on the grounds of the remarkable Ursynów pallace complex.

The goal of Green Campus is to raise awareness of the many uses that the vegetation around us serves.

Also, it’s a chance to actively engage in university life by helping to create the SGGW Campus in Warsaw’s unique microforest

which is created using the Miyawaki technique of forest management.

Nearly all ecosystems that create the environments we live in rely on life-giving vegetation, of which trees are a vital component, to function.

This will be on display at the international conference Trees – a multifunctional feature of ecosystems on October 1, 2024.

The conference provides a forum for thought-provoking talks and presentations about the surrounding greenery.

The conference’s goal is to highlight the importance of trees in urban and rural ecosystems as well as forest ecosystems

with a focus on how important they are to preserving the generally accepted wellbeing of humans and animals.

It also serves as a sort of introduction to the workshop on using the Miyawaki method to create and plant a pocket microforest.

The workshop on growing a microforest using the Miyawaki method will take place on October 2, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

on the SGGW campus in Warsaw, in front of building 34 (accessible from Nowoursynowska Street).

To further green our campus, we want you to actively assist in establishing a distinctive pocket forest.
