On 22 September 2025, Dr Chrystian Chomontowski, from the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute of Biology, SGGW, representing UNIgreen WP6, appeared on TVP during the European Car-Free Day celebrations.

Dr Chomontowski pointed out a growing trend across Europe to move away from cars to public transport, bicycles and shared transport. ‘It is not just a matter of convenience or savings, it is also a real reduction in the carbon footprint, which is increasingly becoming a topic of public debate today.’ As a partner in the UNIgreen alliance, SGGW must report its carbon footprint and take initiatives to counterbalance it as part of its sustainable development policy. He concluded that resigning from using a car, even partially, is a simple way to take care of clean air, the climate, and our cities.
