Marcin Kesler – UNIgreen Ambassador at SGGW

My name is Marcin Kesler, and I am a sociology student at SGGW. Since October this year, I have been holding the position of UNIgreen Ambassador. I am just beginning my journey with UNIgreen, but I hope that my role will allow me to engage more students in the alliance’s activities by promoting it and sharing my own experiences.
Which added value or benefits of UNIgreen would you like to highlight, and why?
The greatest benefit for me from participating in UNIgreen is definitely working in a multicultural environment. Spending time, learning, and collaborating with people from different cultural backgrounds has been an incredibly enriching experience. I also value being part of a project that promotes high-quality research on sustainable development and environmentally friendly solutions.
Please tell us what UNIgreen means to you, and use one word to describe it.
In one word: inspiration. UNIgreen is a space where I can learn openness, trust, and collaboration. My international mobility experiences have shown me that studying abroad is much more than just attending interesting university classes — it’s also spending time with inspiring, fascinating, and genuine people.
Can you share one concrete way UNIgreen is making a positive impact?
One of the positive aspects of UNIgreen is that it creates a space for knowledge exchange and co-creation between universities. Through scientific cooperation and mobility opportunities, we can benefit from the experiences of partners from different countries and build valuable connections and friendships. Being part of the project also gives me the chance to take on new challenges and step outside my comfort zone, which strengthens my confidence and motivates me toward self-development.
If UNIgreen were plants, how would you describe them?
If UNIgreen were plants, I would describe it as a collection of diverse species. Each plant is unique, with its own strengths and qualities. Yet, none of them are perfect — every plant has its weaknesses and thrives differently under various conditions. That’s why mutual support and learning from one another are so important. When diverse species grow side by side, they create something truly special and beautiful.
